Temecula Valley National Horse Show Achieves Premier Hunter Rating

Temecula, Calif. – May 7, 2018 – Managed by Nilforushan Equisport Events, the Temecula Valley National Horse Show series will return to Galway Downs for two more weeks of competition with a new U.S. Equestrian Premier Hunter rating, in addition to other compelling advancements in the hunter ring. The West Coast’s hunter riders, ranging from short stirrup to derby abilities, will gather in Temecula for the second and third installments of the circuit May 23 – 27 and May 30 – June 3 to conclude the inaugural series, this time with more prize money offered and an updated show ring layout on the showgrounds.

Temecula Valley National Horse Show has been awarded the Premier Hunter rating from U.S. Equestrian.

“After the tremendous response following the first week of the horse show, especially from the jumper community and those who competed in the Grand Prix Arena, we wanted to show our deep commitment to the hunter community, as well,” said Ali Nilforushan, owner of Nilforushan Equisport Events. “We are thrilled to have received a Premier hunter rating for the next two weeks of the show, and are eager to see even more hunter competition and prize money in those rings.”

Weeks two and three will feature more prize money in the hunter rings.

Building on the success of the first week of the Temecula Valley National Horse Show, weeks two and three have received a Premier Hunter rating, U.S. Equestrian’s highest rating for a hunter horse show, and will each feature more than $25,000 in hunter prize money, an added incentive for exhibitors. A change from the initial leg of competition, the Temecula Valley National Horse Show will now also have hunter classes taking place on grass. For those competitors interested in a unique riding exhibition, the NEE Hunter/Jumper Team Challenge, a relay-type class comprised of teams of both hunters and jumpers, will take place Friday, May 25.

Nick Haness won the $10,000 Brookway Stables Hunter Derby during week one.

“I think that every show that Nilforushan Equisport Events does, they try to improve on the last one. The whole team is super and welcoming, they listen to the exhibitors and they encourage constructive comments. I think each week of the show will gain more and more from the exhibitors,” said Archie Cox of Brookway Stables, a sponsor during the first leg of the horse show.

The mission of Nilforushan Equisport Events is to produce world-class events, making California a top horse show destination for hunters and jumpers. Run by the husband-and-wife team of Ali and Francie Nilforushan, the Temecula Valley National Horse Show is a horse show run by horse show exhibitors, for exhibitors. In addition to offering high level competition, management has implemented many options in order to reduce the expense of horse showing, especially for those individuals riding OTTBs or young horses.
