Temecula, Calif. – Apr. 26, 2019 – With the deadline approaching, make sure to submit your entries for the Temecula Valley National Horse Show (TVNHS) as soon as possible to avoid late fees and secure your space!
Entries close May 1 for the next three weeks of competition, which will take place May 15 – 19, May 22 – 26 and May 29 – June 2. As if you need more incentives other than the positive reviews following the Premier week to entice you to sign up, we gathered some of our favorite reasons to attend the TVNHS.
The TVNHS is truly a destination horse show, so you can enjoy your time in Temecula on and off the show grounds!
Rated one of the 10 Best Wine Travel Destinations of 2019 by Wine Enthusiast, Temecula boasts more than 40 wineries, where you can taste wines of every familiar variety, from Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon to Syrah, Zinfandel, Grenache and Merlot, plus some options that aren’t so common, like Vermentino, Falanghina and Counoise. Additionally, the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival will take place during the final week of competition from May 31 – June 2, so you can compete during the day and then enjoy balloon launches, entertainment, and drink tastings in the evening.
Lively, themed exhibitor parties every week! On the evening of Tuesday, May 14, join us in the Carriage House at Galway Downs for the first of the three remaining parties. Galway Spirits’ creative cocktails will be served, and featured entertainment will include the dueling piano face-off between Sarah Hester Ross and Shawn Grindle, as well as professional dancers Kenji Igus and Chris Rutledge. Subsequent exhibitor parties will be Wednesday, May 22 and 29.
Tattooed off-the-track Thoroughbreds and young horses aged 6 years old or younger are invited to show sans class fees. In order to provide a cost-effective opportunity for more inexperienced horses or riders, Nilforushan Equisport Events is proud to offer this initiative to help riders and horses gain valuable time in front of a judge or against the clock for fewer expenses than many other horse shows.
Three world-class course designers will create the competitive tracks in the Audi Grand Prix Arena, presented by Evergate Stables, each week. Week One will see Alan Wade (IRL), FEI World Equestrian Games™ course designer, at the helm, while Week Two courses will be constructed by well-known Brazilian designer Anderson Lima. For the final week of the Temecula Valley National Horse Show, Olaf Petersen, Jr. (GER), who was the mind behind major Longines FEI Nations Cup™ and World Cup tracks in the past year, will put his spin on the fences and courses in the ring.
Held on superior footing and beautiful grass, the TVNHS offers competition for all levels, including a number of unique class options. The Week One $10,000 NEE Hunter/Jumper Team Challenge will allow exhibitors to partner up for a competitive showdown, while the Week Two $5,000 1.10m Open Equitation Championship allows for juniors, amateurs and professionals to go head-to-head vie for the top prize in a multi-phase equitation competition.
