“We are so excited to have our EnviroEquine & PET team at this year’s AAEP convention. We knew this would be a great place to connect with equine professionals from across the country and share the benefits of our Aubiose Hemp Horse Bedding,” commeneted Angela Brackett, Director of Sales and Marketing at EnviroEquine & PET. “It is new to the United States, and we are thrilled to be able to help bring this amazing product to North America after many successful years in Europe. It saves money and is more healthy for horses and owners, so you really can’t go wrong with it.”

EnviroEquine & PET will be featured in the vendor’s section, located at booth #552. The booth will highlight new and very popular Aubiose Hemp Horse Bedding, which was only recently introduced to U.S. consumers. Aubiose Hemp Bedding has been established in Europe as the premier option for competitive and recreational equestrians for more than 35 years, and its new partnership with EnviroEquine & PET has recently allowed for its entrance into the American marketplace. With health benefits for horses with allergies or respiratory ailments, Aubiose is a perfect choice. Plus, it is softer than normal bedding, so horses using a stall with hemp bedding are more likely to lay down and achieve full sleep cycles, and the bedding also saves owner expenses thanks to its incredibly absorbency and low-dust qualities.
Aubiose hemp bedding is healthier and more cost-efficient.
Aubiose is a unique bedding product made from hemp shives/hurds (center part of the stem). Highly absorbent (Table 1) and virtually dust-free due to a unique dust extraction process, this bedding traps ammonia and provides a safe, hypo-allergenic environment for stabled horses. This is great news for stabled horses who are at greater risk of developing equine asthma and inflammatory airway disease (IAD), a condition where accumulation of mucus in the airway can be performance limiting and potentially debilitating. Severe equine asthma is estimated to plague approximately 14 percent of horses in the northern hemisphere.
While respiratory health should be a key consideration when selecting a bedding material, ease of mucking-out and disposal are other important considerations. Stalls bedded with Aubiose are very quick to clean. Manure is easily separated from the clean bedding and wet material only needs to be removed every 7 to 10 days. As a result, hemp results in lower amounts of bedding manure per horse per year compared to other popular forms of bedding (Table 2). This can be vital in situations where waste storage and removal are limited and costly.

The AAEP Annual Convention and Trade Show is the world’s largest continuing education event dedicated to equine practice, anchored by more than 100 hours of continuing education; a 300-exhibitor strong trade show featuring the newest products and services for practice; and numerous networking and social events at which individuals can rekindle old friendships and expand professional connections.
